St. Stephen Luncheon at the Cathedral

After the 3 days of Baootha (Chaldean fasting) came the Feast of St. Stephen, the first Christian martyr, on the 26th of January.

He was a deacon who was stoned for his faith. The mass was celebrated by His Excellency Mar Emmanuel Shaleta, during which he spoke of the important role of the servers in the church and their devotion to the lord that helps the church serving the faithful. He also thanked all groups and individuals that help in the church, from priests, deacons, musical groups, alter kids, perish council, each with their own capacity. He encouraged them to continue their mission even if they get opposition and redicule because their service is for the glory of God and not for man.

Following mass was a reception at the church hall where they had dinner with His Excellency in an atmosphere of singing and dancing.
