On Saturday, June 4, 2017, 204 children received Jesus in the Eucharist for the first time. The 109 boys and 98 girls spent a rigorous nine months preparing for this momentous day. The children were split into two groups in order to allow enough seating for them and all their families. The first group’s mass took place at 9AM, followed by the second group who received afterward at 12PM. Both Masses were celebrated by His Excellency, Mar Shlemun Warduni, the Apostolic Administrator of St. Peter Diocese.
The beautiful masses were filled with joy as the children received Jesus for the first time in the Eucharist. A special thanks to all the clergy, sisters, teachers and helpers who helped make First Communion the great success that it was.
