One week ago Monday began the Sawma (Lent) season in the Chaldean Catholic Church, and this past Friday evening opened up the Stations of the Cross prayer service throughout the Diocese of St. Peter the Apostle Parishes. With a full crowd at St. Peter’s Cathedral in San Diego, CA., all were able to experience beautiful prayers which were both sung and recited at all fourteen stations of the cross, detailing each station. As Sister Warda, Choir Director, led the singing of prayers at each station, the seminarian Marlo Gorgis directed the altar kids as they carried the cross to each station near the pews.
Every Friday leading up to Holy Week, the stations of the cross prayer service will be held at St. Peter Cathedral as well as St Michael’s Chaldean Church at 5pm in Chaldean and at 7pm in English. Confession will be available during the prayer service. All are more than welcome to attend. Please enjoy a few photos from the past event.
