St. Peter Cathedral held its second talk in as many weeks on the topic of Chaldean History and Liturgy. His Excellency, Mar Sarhad Yawsip Jammo began his lecture on the Anaphora of the Mass and its continuation through its Apostolic roots. The seemingly fitting connection between historical Jewish prayers of Jesus’ day and those of Mar Addai and Mar Mari truly express Apostolic celebration of the Mass as the continuation of this is celebrated in our diocese today.
The second half from the lecture, held a week ago Tuesday evening, was given by Fr. Ankido Sipo on the order of the Mass and its Scriptural extraction. Fr. Ankido explained the order of the Mass from the procession of the beginning of Mass up to the four readings of Holy Scripture. Extracted from Luke 24, this order of Mass symbolizes the journey on the Road to Emmaus.
The talks will be held on Tuesdays from 6pm to 7:45pm located at the St. Peter Cathedral’s Educational Center, continuing today. If unable to attend, live streaming will be available on www.kaldu.tv/live. All this and so much more can be found in His Excellency’s detailed book, The Chaldean Liturgy At the Gate of God, which is needed in order to truly understand the upcoming lectures. A link has been provided to purchase the book through Amazon.
