The Knights of Columbus Mar Toma Council #10981 on behalf of the Chaldean Catholic Diocese of St Peter the Apostle in El Cajon, CA has established the Iraqi Christian Relief Fund to assist Iraqi Christians who are facing a horrific and violent persecution and possible extinction in Iraq and the surrounding regions.

Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Chaldean Catholic Diocese of St Peter the Apostle is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a religious organization under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code, and 100 percent of all donations collected by Chaldean Catholic Diocese of St Peter the Apostle will be used for humanitarian assistance for those Christians being persecuted or displaced in Iraq and the surrounding region. The funds will be delivered by Bishop Sarhad Y. Jammo himself, or an authorized delegate appointed by the bishop, for use for purchase of humanitarian needs such as food, water, medicine, baby goods, clothing, shelter, beds, and other human necessities.
The Chaldean Catholic Diocese of St Peter the Apostle and the Knights of Columbus Mar Toma Council has a long history of providing humanitarian relief and has done so following Sept. 11, 2001. Together since the 2003 Iraq War, have assisted over 40,000 refugees assimilate into the United States.
They hosted a fundraiser at St. Peter’s hall to raise funds and awareness for the ICRF fund. Bishop Sarhad said, “I will personally take the money to Lebanon to benefit and show my support for my brothers and sisters in Iraq.” The San Diego community came and showed their support and made this event very successful. This event raised 288 thousand dollars and one very generous family matched the amount raised. The Knights of Columbus Mar Toma Council raised a grand total of 576 thousand dollars.
