Holy Father Appoints Fr. Frank Kalabat Bishop of the Eparchy of Saint Thomas the Apostle

There are only two Chaldean dioceses within the entire nation of the United States of America: This, the Chaldean Catholic Diocese of St. Peter the Apostle, based in San Diego, and the Eparchy of Saint Thomas the Apostle, based in Detroit.

Today, May 3rd, 2014, the Holy Father accepted the resignation from the pastoral governance of the Eparchy of Saint Thomas the Apostle of Detroit for Chaldeans (USA) by H.E. Bishop Ibrahim, and appointed, as the new Bishop, Fr. Frank Kalabat, the pastor of Saint Thomas in Detroit (USA).

The Chaldean Catholic Diocese of St. Peter the Apostle congratulates the Eparchy of Saint Thomas the Apostle on having been assigned a new bishop, and prays that the Lord bless and keep Bp. Frank Kalabat, as he takes his new role as shepherd of a diocese and successor of the Apostle St. Thomas.
