On Monday and Tuesday, April 14-15, 2014 St. Peter Cathedral and St. Michael’s Church lead the people in a lenten dramatization of the Lord’s passion. The theme of the event was a meditation on God’s love and mercy toward his people. The St. Peter Cathedral and St. Michael’s choirs joined together to provide the event with beautiful music. The melodies and songs were able to lift the people up and meditate more deeply on Christ’s sacrifice. The dramatization took place in three parts, the first was the journey to Calvary with Jesus, the second was arriving at Calvary with him and witnessing his death, the final part was descending Calvary with Our Lady.
The dramatization and music were put together by His Excellency, Mar Sarhad Yawsip Jammo, along with the help of Louay Yousif for music and Sr. Veronica Mariam for the actors and costumes.
A segment of the dramatization will be perfomed at the Good Friday service at St. Peter Cathedral, Friday, April 18, 2014.
