On Friday, December 13, 2013, students from the St. Peter Cathedral First Communion class and children’s choir put on a Christmas play for the First Communion class and their parents. The performance was done inside of St. Peter Cathedral and was a great success. The play began with the shepherds hearing from the angel that the savior was born. They, and some other children who overhead them talking about what the angel had said, went to Bethlehem to see Jesus, Mary and Joseph.
The children were prepared by the Workers of the Vineyard who have been practicing with them since early November. There are a total of three showings. The first and second took place on December 13 and 14 and starred the children of St. Peter Cathedral. The last showing will take place on December 23 and will feature the children of St. Michael’s First Communion class.
The play will follow a lecture to be given by His Excellency, Mar Sarhad Yawsip Jammo, on the importance of Christmas. All are welcome to attend both the lecture and the performance. Both events are free and open to all.
