3rd Annual Grand Christmas Charity Concert

Northern California Vicariate Chaldean Catholic Diocese of Saint Peter the Apostle

“The things that we love, tell us what we are” St. Thomas Aquinas.

On Saturday, December 14th, the love that is mutually shared between our Northern California Parishes was uttered so ever amiably, at the 3rd annual Grand Christmas Charity Concert at Turlock Community Theater in Turlock-CA. From the moment we walked through the entrance of its vestibule where mothers of St. Matthew’s had organized a beautiful Christmas Concert Gift Shop and throughout the entire evening, the volunteers flawlessly facilitated in making everyone feel most welcomed. As the collaboration between our Parishes continued, a beautiful canvas of harmonious theatrical and musical performances was produced, where over 120 children and adult choral singers and artists, came together as one, celebrating this beautiful Advent Season and much anticipated Christmas- The Birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.

This celebration included a Christmas Play “Making Miracles” by St. Thomas (Turlock-CA) Children’s Drama Group. Songs by St. Mary (Campbell-CA) & St. Matthew (Ceres-CA) Children’s Choirs, and songs by Adult Choirs of St. Matthew, St. Thomas, St. Mary, and St. Paul (Los Angeles-CA) Parishes.

IMG 7354We were blessed to have with us at this celebration: Fr. Awraha Mansoor, Fr. Peter Georgis, Fr. Poulos Ghozairan, Fr. Michael Barota, and Fr. Dimitiri Grekoff. Also, Fr. Edward Bakos of St. Mary Holy Apostolic Catholic Ancient Church of the East in Hughson-CA.

Our Pastor Fr. Awraha Mansoor, Episcopal Vicar of Northern California Vicariate for Chaldean Catholic Diocese of Saint Peter the Apostle, welcomed our guests and extended his gratitude to all volunteers who labored unceasingly, to make this event memorable. He expressed his appreciation for all the members of the choirs, children and adults, and Children’s Drama Group for their beautiful performances. Drawing from the beautiful array of unity within the performers, the entire production team, and volunteers, Fr. Mansoor delivered special greetings from our Spiritual Father and Eparch, His Excellency Mar Sarhad Y. Jammo, who consistently emphasizes on the charitable beauty which can only be expressed through genuine unity. And whose prayers continue to be blessings which draw us united in our words and deeds, so to all be one in Christ, for this is the Will of God The Father.

Very special thanks and gratitude are due to the cast and crew of over 150 volunteers who worked alongside each other with joy and hope that only the love of God brings in one’s heart.  We also extend our appreciation to this year’s business and individual Sponsors for their support.

Wishing everyone a blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year.
