Northern Vicariate Parishes Gather at St. Matthew’s

Chaldean Catholic Diocese of St. Peter the Apostle Ministering to Chaldeans and Assyrians in Western USA Luncheon-Meeting at St. Matthew Catholic Church Churches of Northern Vicariate

Pastors, deacons, and committee members of our five parishes in Northern California: St. Thomas Church in Turlock, St. Mary Church in San Jose, St Paul Church in Los Angeles, St. Matthew Church in Ceres, and Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Sacramento, gathered on September 21, 2013 at Saint Matthew Church in Ceres for a Luncheon-Meeting.

Fr. Awraha Mansoor, Episcopal Vicar of Northern California, started the meeting with a prayer and welcomed all the guests. The purpose of this meeting was for everyone to know each other more closely, to build brotherly relationships, to help one another, and exchange their parishmanagement-experiences to benefit all the parishes. Each parish presented their financial report and summary of their activities; spiritual, social, cultural, and educational.

Archdeacon Sabri A. Kejbo, representing H.E. Bishop Sarhad Yawsip Jammo, the Shepherd of our Diocese in San Diego, attended the meeting and listened to the accomplishments as well as the needs of these parishes and their future plans. Archdeacon Sabri encouraged everyone to work together and support each other, and to continue bonding with our Bishop and work in accordance to the plans of our Diocese for the spiritual growth of the faithful.

Following the meeting, the guests enjoyed a lunch prepared by Daughters of Mary Ministry at the hosting parish.
