Northern Parishes Joint Christmas Concert

On the evening of December 1, 2012, three parishes of the Northern Vicariate, St. Thomas, St. Mary and St. Matthew came together for a Joint Christmas Concert at the Heritage Theater in Campbell. This joyous occasion was a moving and inspiring event for those who were present as they watched their children come together as the Nativity scene. Later, the different choirs from the parishes came together to sing some of the most popular and classic Christmas carols of our time. The musical ensemble was filled with beautiful hymns from our Chaldean and Assyrian heritage as well as hymns in English.

The event was especially blessed by the presence of His Excellency, Mar Sarhad Yawsip Jammo who arrived earlier this morning to attend the Christmas Concert as part of his Pastoral Visit to San Jose. The clergy from the parishes were also present in support of all the faithful who came together and made this beautiful event possible.

During the intermission, different Christmas sweets and crafts were available for sale to those who wished to support the event. All the proceeds from the concert will be used to aid our Assyrian and Chaldean faithful who are struggling this Christmas Season.

There was an air of community and genuine brotherhood at this simple and beautiful Christmas Concert. As always, it is Christ who brings out the best in his flock, especially when they gather around his manger as they did at this Joint Christmas Concert.
